    Boxing 2009!!!

I'm pretty excited about the 2009 boxing season, Margarito and Mosely is a good way to start off the new year. I hope that it'll be a good competitive fight.

I'd like Mosely to win, but i think Margarito is going to come through on that one. He hasn't fought since the Cotto fight, so he might be getting a little anxious.

I'm keeping a close eye on the new comers. Berto, Williams, Dawson?, Gamboa?

This year it'll bring more fighters into the spectrum. Darchinyan, Diaz, Arce, Donaire.

And hopefully this year the oldies will retire.

I think we're all hoping the oldies retire. Hopkins, DLH, Roy Jones, Calzaghe, Tarver, Mosley, etc...

Honestly they don't do much for the sport anymore besides making big irrelevant events. Once they're out of the way, we can see the great youth in boxing today take over.

True. But Holyfield is kind of at the point of no return, he's not clogging up the heavyweight scene either, if there is one.

You know what i think it is? I think they've hung around because the "old timers" are the only marquee names the layperson knows when it comes to boxing.

If you mention the names like Berto, Gamboa, Lockett, Williams, Dawson the average boxing fan won't know ***** about them. But if you pair them up with the big names of the 90's then they'll be able to relate.

Watch, i really think '09 is the year for the young lions to become the new face of boxing.

Hatton, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Collazo, Pavlik and now turning into the veterans.
