It was only a few short years ago that former champion Jose Luis Castillo (56-9, 48KOs) was still being ranked among the best pound for pound fighters in the sports. The fighter who once ruled the lightweight division with an iron fist and came close to handing Floyd Mayweather Jr. his first professional loss. A few defeats later, struggles with weight and financial issues have crippled his career at age 35 and he is now viewed as a shot fighter. [details]

Hope this will be a fitting end to ONE OF THE LAST GREAT WARRIORS OF OUR GENERATION......

JLC is done. I predicted Lujan was going to beat him because of it; I hadn't seen Bradley before they scheduled to fight, but we would've probably seen Bradley smashing him. Granted, Lujan is a bad style matchup for an older smaller fighter, but if you can't manage to win more than a couple rounds out of 10 then don't even think about the elite.
If Castillo is in financial problems, he should fight bums so he can save something up, but he should not try to step up his level of comp to B class because he'd get smashed and he'd go life and death with a C class opponent.

i just hope and pray jose gets this last win and then somehow sorts out his financial ****...man if i was rich and had the money i would give the guy enough to live on for the rest of his life, he deserves to live comfortably after a tough but glorious career

I didn't like Corrales for suing him like he did either, especially considering Corrales then failed to make weight himself against Casamayor.
