If Castillo wasn't such a slow starter, and didn't throw away half the fight, he surely would of won. Too bad the fight wasn't a 15 rounder, he had some serious momumtum going.

I don't see how one can claim "robbery", where it's conceivable Castillo lost the first 5 rounds of the fight, and a point deducted to boot. Meaning Floyd Mayweather would have to win one round in the last seven to theoritcally earn a tie. The majority of boxing fans (even those who thought Castillo won), thought it was an extremely close fight. It just so happened the victory was credited to Floyd. Holyfield - Valuev is a robbery.

Yes from rounds 6-12, for the most part we saw Castillo bully Mayweather around, trap him on the ropes and wail away with some tremendous body shots. He even at times managed to catch Mayweather with uppercuts and hooks upstairs. You have no argument from me there.

It's just that we cannot forget about rounds 1-5, where Castillo looked hesitant, reluctant, and was easily outboxed by being jabbed and occasionally potshotted in the middle of the ring.

Regardless of your opinion as to who won, facts are:

        Floyd won the fight.
Floyd had a well documented torn rotator cuff.
Floyd gave an immediate rematch, and won decisevely.

          Mayweather.

I love Marquez at 126-130, but at 135, he has a better chance of tasting defeat. Mayweather would have been bigger, faster and hungrier. Marquez would keep it competitive, but he would probably end up getting stopped late.

Overall, I think Marquez has admitted that Mayweather is even better than him. After the Casamayor victory, he even stated something along the lines of, 'With Mayweather retired, I'm the best fighter in the world now.' Or some such ****.

          Regardless, both great fighters.

And that Casamayor beat Santa Cruz, Chavez drew with Whitaker and Forrest beat Quartey.

floyds just too quick and by the time JMM counters floyd would already be out of the way and possibly setting up another shot.

floyd by KO, hes a pretty big puncher, he has more pop than hes given credit for.

Perhaps at 135, which is what I'm assuming you mean. At 140 and up, he has slightly above-average pop.

Let's just put it this way, Juan Manuel Marquez would have an awful time trying to out counter-punch someone that has Floyd's intangibles, speed, timing, accuracy and defense.

The only fighters i'd bet against Floyd in the history of 135 would be Duran and Sweet Pea, and even then i have doubts about a PBF-Duran bout. Floyd would more than likely UD JMM at 135, both are great fighters

I think I would pick Duran against a 23-24 year old Mayweather at Lightweight. Not sure if I'd pick him against a 29-31 year old, polished and experienced Mayweather assuming he stayed at Lightweight and never moved up.
