..One Of The Best PPV Cards...

I was recently re-watching Jhonny Gonzalez take on, and evetually lose to, Israel Vazquez and then I over heard the rest of the card that same night, on the same show.

On a PPV that had one of Mexico's brightest stars, Marco Antonio Barrera, take on a decent/formidable opponent in Juarez (a fight that COULD have been a passing of the torch moment) in a rematch. Which was the main event for the fight I just mentioned.

Before that fight, you saw a THRILLER in Joan Guzman beating Jorge Barrios.

THAT... is how you put together a PPV.

Pavlik Taylor II and Mosley-Cotto had good cards.

By the way, Vazquez-Gonzalez is such an awesome match. It's high speed chess and then Vazquez eventually does enough to where he comes back in the 7th and beats his ass the rest of the fight. Great fight.

I understand that that particular crowd was amped due to Barrios/Guzman laying it out, but they were VERY ungreatful during that Gonzalez/Vazquez fight. The fight was so smart.

Yeah. Speaking of which, the cards for Guzman-Barrios were some of the worst I have ever seen.

I remember that card. It was a rare night for boxing. Gonzales was giving it to Vasquez but kept his foot on the gas and got caught. Another great one was Pacquiao-Solis. First was Brian Viloria vs. Edgar Sosa, which Sosa got the title. Then came Arce vs. Mijares and Mijares stunned everybody. Then came Chavez Jr and then the main event.

Yeah, it wasn't a one-sided fight by any means, but that was a CLEAR UD for Guzman.
