Are there 2 wba heavyweight champions?

Up till recently I thought nikolai valeuv was the wba champion but after chagev lost his title to valeuv . chagev was somehow defending his wba title against matt skelton while valeuv was still in possession of it .Could some one please explain how that is possible?.

The WBA always has a champ and an interim champ. There's also a super champ if the titlist has anotha alphabet belt.

Chagaev is the WBA champion in recess due to injuries; he did beat Valuev for the title and defended it against Skelton however he pulled out of the rematch w/ Valuev; for some reason they didn't strip him or give him an interim title.

And most importantly, prime Mike Tyson had the feet to be fleet-footed.

i dont see how valeuv could be the official champ considering he lost it to chagev . does the second wba belt mean anything. why have 2 belts within the one organisation . i dont understand.

It's also on behalf of the promoters and TV companies. A bout with a 'world' title at stake draws more interest and money. So, invent more titles.

I think it's phoney, but actually, it's said that the boxers have benefit on this inflation of titles, so in that sense it's OK.

However, the most favourable to this mess with all these titles and 'world' champs, I believe it's the MMA.
