Oscar is not shot but he squandered both PAC and Floyd fights.

Going into the fight with Floyd we knew two things. 1. Floyd would be the quicker of the two. 2. Oscar would be the bigger(stronger) of the two. So even though Floyd was a favorite there was a chance he could catch Floyd with the left hook and who knows what happens. Oscar did the right thing coming in much heavier than Floyd and I felt he was a good enough boxer to make Floyd work. Then the fight started and except for a couple spurts against the ropes Oscar laid back most of the fight. I couldn't understand it. I'm a Floyd fan and all but I expected Oscar to press him more and make him fight. It didn't happen. It almost looked like Floyd expected Oscar to pres him more as well, and when Oscar didn't Floyd just picked his shots while in the middle of the ring. Oscar respected Floyd too much in my opinion. The fight was OK. Not as bad as everyone makes it seem. (I was there so my perception may be off.) But I think it would have been better if Oscar would have tried to establish himself as the bigger man. I still think Floyd wins.

On to PACMAN. A lot of people gave Pac no chance in the fight due to the size difference. I get the feeling that one of those people was Oscar himself. From what I understand Oscar was playing with the weight to not only fight Pac but to position himself for a fight with Hatton. I get it but you cannot over look a p4p world class fighter even if size is on your side. Anyways the weigh in shocked me. A pac win seemed a bit more realistic. I felt that Oscar has faded late in a couple fights and the drastic weight drop may cause him to fade quicker and harder. I was wrong because Oscar didn't fade, he just didn't have anything. I feel that he could have avoided some embarrassment had he showed up on fight night out weighting Pac by a good amount of weight. Based on what I saw Pac still wins as well.

In both cases Oscar was trying face the number one p4p guy at the time and made bad decisions In either prep or strategy. I think Oscar has had a great career and has had some epic fights, (Quartey, Tito, Shane to name a few) but fell short recently when fighting the best possibly due to over analyzing the situation. I don't think he is shot, just needs to be Oscar.
