Any news about whether this guy will turn pro? I saw him at the Olympics last year and he was very good. He stopped a French lad in the final and looked professional in the clinical way he did it.

I read on a Ukrainian site that he is having some conflicts with the Ukrainian boxing federation and that he might be turning pro soon. He is going to have hand surgery and then make his decision.

He is in a conflict with ABA right now, so it is possible he might turn pro in a year or two.

I know, but his father wants him to wait till the next am world championship to win that one. He lost to Selimov in the previous one, whome he later went on to beat at the Olympics.
I dont know what their logic really, maybe they think he ain't got it for the pros, maybe they just have the mentality that am boxing is where it's at and pros are capitalistic sellouts.
I mean Vitaly was literally in the arena there, when Vasyl beat the frog, to sign him up.Comment
