there's always something sinister happening in the supermiddle division.
sven ottke's whole career.
joe calzaghe's whole career.
both have 21 title defenses against mostly unranked bums. shows how hard it is to get to 21 when you fight push overs in your homeland.
bute-knocked out but his paid off ref let him survive.
inkin- lost to zuniga but fight was in germany so you know how that goes.
kessler fought sartisson to get his worthless belt and is on the missing persons list.
froch is just a funny guy who thinks calzaghe will fight him but he's obviously off his rocker.

and you know what else is funny?...I completely forgot about Ottke...again.
I swear....I NEVER acknowledge his existence every time I talk Boxing....lol
but that's right...Sven Ottke...a grand champion of the heralded, 168 pound division.

The threadstarter's only half right. No doubt SMW is a terrible division, but so are MW and LHW. There isn't a single good division in boxing MW and above anymore, because 100% of the elite athletes who are big enough to go to the NFL or NBA do that instead.
Maybe we'll get lucky and get another Roy Jones soon, but it'll just be one guy here, one guy there. The days of consistent division-wide quality in the upper weight divisions are gone, at least until society changes and the best athletes start boxing again.

Traditionally....from '84 to the present day...where do the best fighters and competition hang their hat between the 3 divisions I'm referring to..?
I'm 1000% right.

If I got a dime for everytime I heard the weak football excuse I would be a millionaire
You Americans have gone soft. American is a soft laid back country, the fighters are spoiled and lazy.
Europeans are stronger, hungrier and more determined than you AmericansLast edited by WLAD_OWNS; 01-10-2009, 06:39 PM.
