Why Won't People Respect Joe Calzaghe?

Agreements on phone conferences aren't agreements. There's more to the story that involves Don King and Hopkins, the slave contract, the middlweight uni tournament and why Hopkins desperately wanted to get out of the King Contract. If you'd watched boxing then (media reports, tv etc) and not just googled **** in retrospect with the perspective of a Joe fan then maybe I could take your comments seriously.

Seems to be the logic you guys like to employ, right?
Everyone was afraid of the conquerer of Branko Sobot according to your **** logic.

Nothing su****ious at all, Look when you have to deal with people like Don king as your promoter then you hve to be very careful what you agree/sign to. I have NO doubt that King try to do something dodgy and hopkins pulled out because of that.

Yes I'm sure that is what happened with Hopkins. Nasty 'ol Don King leaned on him.
And No, you didn't say that he was the biggest fraud in the history of boxing, but by refusing to give him any credit whatsoever, that is what you imply.
I started this thread with two objectives: 1) To point out that Calzaghe has very good skills as a boxer and 2) He hasn't spent his entire career avoiding everyone then claiming he's the greatest (yes the legend killer comment annoying me too before you bring it up as proof that I'm clueless).
I've noticed that everyone is happy to dissect Calzaghe's resume with such enthusiasm, but where is the criticism of Roy Jones then? The man had all the skills in the world, but didn't want to fight big names did he? (Not counting Toney of course. And the B-Hop that Calzaghe beat was better than the one RJJ beat. Watch the fights if you don't believe this)
