It was a close fight, and to me it was one of the rare fights that raised the stock of both men. I think this fight will get argued about for a very very long time though.

it's sad how people question whether marquez is even a legend or ATG yet hadidly call pacquiao top 50 atg because of the judges score card.
The majority of people don't think marquez won. Furthermore the majority of fans don't think he won. There was a poll on this website that had a ton of votes and Pacquiao handly beat him in it. The reality is there are a few individuals who find Marquez' style to win them over and feel he won, and they are loud and post a lot. The majority of people think Pacman won. They just don't have to say it constantly because they already got the result.

Pac was robbed on the first fight because of the scorecard, remember?

Because on the official scorecard it says "Winner: Manny Pacquiao"

Not every fight is going to be a dominating fight for every fighter. Marquez gave Manny his best fights to date, but at the end of the day Manny got the W (think Hagler vs Leonard. Was a controversial win for Leonard, but he's still recognized as THE winner).

Just how things are sometimes. But Manny without a doubt deserves that spot. Marquez has his own fish to fry with Diaz (who ain't no walk in the park)

But Hagler should have beaten Leonard and it is wrong to give Leonard credit for that win.
Pacquiao in my eyes beat Marquez by at least one round.

Hagler was supposed to KO Leonard being Leonard hadn't fought in years and came back to directly fight Hagler. The fight was close, but Leonard was victorious and like the Manny vs Marquez fights, some people disputed but ultimately Leonard was recognized as the winner at the end of the day.

maybe because the guy has been a top fighter in about, I dunno, 7 weight classes throughout his career? I thought he lost to Marquez too, but his full career accomplishments just cant be denied. his record is way, way better than Marquez's.

If you match Pacquiao up against many of the greats of all time, I can see him losing to a bunch of them...he IS a flawed fighter. but he is still great, and because of his willingness to fight the best, hes going to end up ranked higher than a good majority of the people that would have beaten him theoretically.

and thats fair. you rank fighters based on what theyve accomplished, and by the end of Pacquiao's career, he may very well be near the top of the lists.
