Why Didn't Cotto Insist On A Rematch ASAP?

I know they say he needs a tune up but if the match is so compelling to everyone then why not just do it now? Whats gonna change in the meantime other than people speculating all the "What If's" I just think Cotto has no chance after the beating he took I dont care how he fights unless he can get a good gameplan and stick to it he will lose again. Plus what if Cotto loses again somehow in his tune up fight or if Shane is able to beat Margorito

I actually don't like either of these guys that much but would like to see the rematch, I just think Cotto loses again maybe he goes the distance but still loses...or my wet dream would be is that Cotto went in on him and really tried to overwhelm him til he can get some body work done, but if Margoritio smells fear at all he will be on that frankenstein moe and never stop coming forward and it looked to me like Margorito wasnt hurt by any of his punches....and for yall smart asses i know some hurt i mean that he did land some good shots but Margorito was not effected....also if y'all wanna chat i'd like to hear what y'all would tell the fighter to get him prepared...Peace happy new year to all the real boxing heads in here? Peace

You don't like either of them? How can you say that about Margarito? He fights them all. Clottey, Cintron, Williams, Cotto and now Mosely. His fights are always exciting, especially the ones against Williams and Cotto.

Also Cotto didn't really take that much of a beating. He gave out far more to Margarito, he's just got a pretty suspect chin.

Because he needs to prepare perfectly and regain his ring confidence. If he is lacking in any area he will lose again in the same fashion.

Cotto has no chance.... When that bell rings... He will remember flashes of margarito walking toward him, warm blood all over his face, and his children crying. He will then crawl in to a ball in the corner and shake his head to his corner agian "stop the fight"

I agree he does but he also needs to fight him again and from what I read he already knows what he did wrong and is ready to counter act it...I know why more money and if they both win the match will be bigger money all that but if he was serious about wanting to get back in there he could and that nmakes me think he still has no clue how to beat the guy.

I think there boring fighters I like guys that are faster and more skilled...I like them enough to buy again I just find there fights boring with other fighters...Cotto looked horrible against Judah til they let him cheat and Margorito is like a zombie...I think Sugar will beat him.

With some adjustments Cotto can win the fight. He fought a great fight, but laid on the ropes a little too much to where Margarito figured out how to trap him. Prior to that Cotto was landing 3-4 hit combos and got out of the way. Looked as if he was trying to KO Marg from the very beginning.

And I think people are overlooking his chin. He got rocked several times in the fight without going down until the 11th where he took a knee and gotr right back up. He really lost the fight off exhaustion more than being KTFO...there is a difference.

As far as an immediate rematch, there was already a rematch clause in the contract but Oscar, Paul Williams, and Clottey were kinda the next options for Margarito (he had proposed dates with both Williams and Clottey in Nov but stated he didn't train enough because of all the pressers post the Cotto fight)

But June 20th looks like the date for the rematch

You don't like Cotto or Margarito, have a Mayweather AV and you call yourself a real boxing head or whatever. You're more like a boxing groppie or a Floyd nuthugger.
