Technical boxing is alive and well!!!!

We are blessed to live in age where the technical skill of boxing is still very much alive and well. The top ten pound for pound list is littered with boxers that personify the sweet science. It's time we paid homage to those who have taken their fundamental skills to another level.

Manny Pacquiao, labelled rather unfairly as a brawler in recent times has proven to be a proficient and technical offensive fighter, his boxing skill was often overlooked because he fought against some of the most technically sound boxers of our era.

Juan Manuel Marquez, the best right hook to the body in recent memory. JMM epitomises technical boxing. Defensively sly, he turns and slips punches at ease. Offensively a nightmare to handle, the older of the Marquez brothers has what in my eyes is perfect punching technique, finding torque in the smallest of confines and putting combinations together in a wonderful tapestry of laser targeted accuracy.

Joe Calzaghe undoubtedly has one of the greatest workrates in modern day boxing, but look behind the constants barrage of punches and you'll find a boxer who is a master of angles and timing. Extremely accurate, Joe will put his opponent on the ropes where he punches and probes, looking for any ***** in a fighter's defensive armour.

Coming soon among others, Floyd Mayweather, Bernard Hopkins and Miguel Cotto

I don't dissagree, I just haven't got around to him yet.

Any other suggestions of active or recently inactive fighters with superb technical ability?
