To duck someone you have to agree to fight them. Not verbally say "yeah I'll fight him sure" in some back end phone conference before you read any of the contract and find a way to get away from Don King.

But you wouldn't know that because Joe's balls obscure your viewpoints.

Because now Jonhson is a winnable fight. I hate this Calzaghe guy. Why doesn't he fight someone with a real belt like Dawson? The man to beat is Dawson, why don't Joe actually proves something is signing to fight him? Fighting meaningless fights when you're at the end of your career is ridiculous. If you look at Ali or Floyd for two, at the very end of their careers they were fighting for titles, Floyd beating undefeated 43-0 Ricky Hatton, against all odds and on pure class, not physical condition as Zaghe did with senior citizens Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins. Ali lost but he was the greatest and only 3 time world HW champion ever. Floyd went up 5 divisions in the course of his career and was the champion in each and everyone of them. Not magazine tittles no sir, real belts you know, like the ones real fighters get, by beating fit opponents. Calzaghe got one mediocre title in the SMW class, he defended it for 10 years vs MANDATORIES, then he robs the bank traveling to the states and beating 2 old legends, didn't defend his so called tittle (magazine one of course) once and now he's going after yet another 40 year old in Jonhson. This is getting ridiculous...

Floyd's belt at 140 was paper. Just wanted to clarify. But I have no qualms with anything else.

Could be interesting. Johnson tends to fight to the level of his competition.

Oh i know, i didn't mean that one. He didn't do nothing at 140 really. It's Joe attitude that makes me think Boxing is doomed. Can we really blame him? I don't think so but i do hate him because he has a choice to do differently, yet he doesn't. It's apparent he's trying to steal a place in Boxing history by doing this, hoping people in the future will refer to who he beat rather than when he beat them. Historically this is wrong. There's a reason mainstream boxing commentators avoid commenting on the career of Marciano for instance. Yes they say he was great but how great? No one really wants to do there. They just don't discuss it. Marciano is not alone of course but he maybe the highest ranked hypejob. Don't believe me? Take a look at ESPN classic, they often show Mohammad Ali, Carmen Basilio, Max Bayer, Sugar Ray Robbinson, only once i've seen Marciano there and it was a brief mention. They certainly air him less often, odd for a guy who had 6 movies made in his honor, right? I expect the same to happen to Joe Calzaghe, his DVD may sell well but history will see through the hype like so many times before, trust it.

Your hatred for Calzaghe obscures your viewpoints.

Under your definition of ducking there have been about 40 duckings in the history of the sport. There is no clear definition because everybody uses it all the time, but I think to most reasonable fight fans ducking is avoiding a fighter who legimately deserves his shot when you have absolutely no excuse. You're just interpreting information to suit your already held opinion. This isn't me judging whether Hopkins did or did not duck Calzaghe.

Now a days money talks and everything else walks. Now all that a fighter can say to get out of a fight with a legit contender or opponent is that the money wasn't right for the fight and everyone seems to agree with that. The fact is titles don't seem to matter anymore at least to fighters they are just annoying with their mandatories and fees to the alphabets. They win one or two titles and once their name is big enough they use their name to sell their fights not their titles. Joe has made a name for himself in the states he has his loyal fans in the UK and now he is cashing in. He doesn't need titles to sell his fights the fact is love him or hate him you will probably watch him either to see him win and go on with his 0 or if you hate him you want to see him KTFO. You can't blame Joe you have to blame the alphbets and the major networks. They will put up money to have JT fight RJ but not JT vs Frotch which would probably mean more to the sport then the JT RJ match up. It is what it is. If you were in joes shoes what would you do take say 4 million to fight Johnson or take 2 million to fight Dawson? ....Lefty
