    I don't know the answer myself, but curious to know what year they officially stopped doin 15 rd fights, and does anybody know what the last 15 rd fight was?

      Not sure? I think they did it for safety reasons, but not sure when they stopped them. Good question mangler.

      Who knows when 15 rounders stopped and which was the last 15 round fight?

        In the USA I think Buddy McGirt vs. Howard Davis Jr. was the last scheduled 15 Round fight.

          The last 15 round fight was Jose Alfredo Flores vs Eric Holland in 1997 for the little known WBB middleweight title.

          The official reason for the switch to 12 round fights was that it is supposedly safer for the fighters but Ray Mancini has said there has been no medical proof of it. And I think it's mainly for the networks to schedule a broadcast more conveniently.
