I dont kno if he would be happier after the Pavlik/Hopkins fight or after the rematch wit Dawson/Tarver if Chad loses

Non, he seems pretty sure about retiring anyway... he doesn't feel he has to fight Dawson, and before they arranged the fight with Roy Jones, Jr. he continuously said that he wants his next fight to be his last. He feels like he has nothing to prove and seems pretty adamant about retiring... I don't think he cares if Dawson beats Tarver or Tarver beats Dawson, or that Hopkins beat Pavlik... he said he wanted to retire shortly after the Hopkins fight.

True, gotta agree with you a bit there... it makes him happy that it has shut a few people up if you know what I mean, without having to fight which he doesn't want to do anymore. I don't think he is too bothered about people saying he should fight Pavlik or Dawson.. but when Pavlik lost, and if Dawson loses he will think it is ironic.

He probably happy that Tarver enforced the rematch. I mean Dawson already showed he is easily better than Tarver at this point. If he dominates him again it adds nothing to Dawson's reputation. If on the other hand Dawson were free to add another good name to his resume, then the call for the fight with Calzaghe would be that much stronger.
