But all bull**** aside. Do you REALLY think Pac would have a chance at beating Margarito?[/QUOTE]

yep. Stratagy goes a loooooonnnnnnnnggggggg way. the chance may be slim, but its still there!
I find it funny that you would only give Manny a slim chance against Tony but would consider Floyd a sure lock to beat Tony even though PBF and Pacman would have the same advantages and disadvantages against Margarito.

No way he could beat Margarito by anything other than a decision, though. He can't KO him. If he did... holy ****. I'd be speechless for a month.
Well, of course Manny is going to say as much. He is a world class athlete. He would never downplay his chances on a victory. Psyche is a big part of getting to where he is at right now.

If Manny where to KO Margarito, you can pretty much rest assured that hell has frozen over. Cintron and Cotto hit him with just about as big of shots as a WW can deliver, and Margarito just smiled.

If the fight was ever to be made, I see Manny winning much of the first half of a 12 round fight. But he takes some big shots in return, and in round's 7 and 8, Manny starts to get battered, and by round 10, it's over.

Even Freddie Roach himself says thats an unrealistic match up and would only fight Tony at a catchweight of 142 or 43.

Here is the video where he says all that at the 6:50 point in the video.

Well first of all, I don't believe Manny was particularly known as a technical genius, he has flaws and always has had flaws, but he has improved a great amount over the years.

I don't think there are a lot of sluggers who can beat him. This is why I think he has a chance against Marg. It takes a slick fighter to beat (or come close to beating) Manny, as far as I've seen. Of course, I'm talking about Marquez who had incredibly close fights with him (Marquez is exceptional, IMO) and the great Erik Morales.

Margarito, as much as I like the guy, isn't technically brilliant. He is pretty slow, and if Cotto hadn't crumbled late in the fight he could probably have won against Margarito. He did come pretty close, he was out-boxing him for many of the rounds. It might only take that little bit more extra effort to beat him, and this is where will, determination, whatever you want to call it, comes in. We can't physically see these things, they exist in the heart and mind of the fighter. That little extra effort and mental strength may be the key to beating Margarito next time Cotto fights him. Let's not forget, Cotto wasn't exactly unconscious on the canvas, he quit of his own accord.

As I said, Pac could fail miserably. I accept that, but belief can go a hell of a long way. Boxing is 50% mental. If Pacquiao is mentally strong enough and prepares correctly, has the right game plan, I think he stands a good chance of being victorious.

Very true -- but the key word is "out-box". That's what Pac said. He didn't say he can hurt Margarito and lay him out. Margarito is a beast, that's for sure, but he isn't a technically brilliant fighter.

Well it seems ferocity is a ***** hiding in boxing shorts.

Her nightmares are always the same, trying to suck Manny's balls but nuthuggers repeatedly kicked her face before she can come close to Pac.

That's a bold statement. There is no such thing as a certainty in what is figuratively speaking, a two horse race. Common sense suggests a win for Margarito, but it's not impossible that Pacquiao could win a wide UD....... if he borrows a pair of Floyds running shoes!!: lol1:

Fair enough. But I think Margarito has found out what works for him. And it is pretty damn effective.
I just don't see anyway that Pac beats him. Just to much pressure, chin, and stamina. Pac will get put in the corner, and ropes, and catch a beating.

                    1. There isn't exactly a lot of sluggers that are gonna beat Cotto either but Tony did.

                    2. Cotto didn't quit the fight because he was just winded from the literal windsprints he was doing around the ring, it was all the vicious punishment he was taking. So if a techically brilliant fighter like Cotto gets hit that much how is a fighter like Manny who you said has faults going to stand up to that kind of punishment when his punches have little to no effect on tony.

                    3. Any man would have quit after taking the punishment Cotto took in that fight and really if he would of continued he would of been seriously hurt and still would of lost because the scorecards had already made it impossiable for him to win. He was down 2 rounds on two judges scorecards going into the 11th and would of been down 4 rounds going into the 12th so why risk getting killed?

Seriously Cotto continuing in that fight would have been almost superhuman and I think it's in bad taste to use that as a way to make Pacman look good.

Nothing is guaranteed. But yeah, you could be right bro. We'll see. Or maybe not. Damn I wanna see this fight!
