To the ppl who say Oscar was fine in that fight I wanna know why he barely gained for the fight? There was something wrong with him and it showed in his performance.

1977 is when I started taking notice of boxing, and in the following years I got deeper into it. What's that... longer than you've been alive?

Whatever it was, it wasn't dehydration. And whatever was, it's his own ****** fault. Q: How long has the guy been in professional boxing? A: Long enough to know better than to prepare like an amateur. He can afford to put together a "dream team" of trainers and dietitians, yet none of these people told him he was going wrong in his preparation. Oscar himself said he'd never felt better and healthier. He could spar for 12 and run 10 miles with ease...

But his problem was Manny Pacquiao. He was way too fast and smart.

Oh, and maybe he ate one too many giraffe bollocks.

It doesn't matter if he drained himself or not, he signed the contract and his goal was to win the fight. OSCAR FAILED!! Manny had the better preparations even when he had to jump 3 weight classes. Get over it!!

I wouldn't call anyone a moron for picking DLH over Pacman especially since the majority of all the most respected sports writers in boxing picked the Golden Boy to win. **** most trainers and boxers picked Del la Hoya and so what? The only thing that proves is that anything can happen in boxing.

This is an anomaly in boxing that only comes once a generation and I wish more Boxing fans would just be happy to have witnessed it rather than using it as some sort of tool to discredit people on a message board.

He wanted to show everybody that he can win against manny at Pac's own comfortable weight which is 140-149. Coming thru the fight, everyone knows Oscar was going to win this and Oscar was criticized so much that he had to prove something. He wanted to come down to Manny's level and beat him there. Well his assumptions were wrong....and Manny is more than just a brawler.
