    Gamboa's future?

Anyone have any predictions on how far Gamboa will take his career?

Its hard to say unless we spend alot of time with the guy. I hear many rumors about him being undedicated and partying etc which will ALWAYS catch up with you. However the same was said about James Toney and he's achieved amazing feats but everybody has the same opinion "what if he had that drive and dedication" Gamboa will defiantly be a world champion there's no doubt about that in my opinion. Will he be the undisputed featherweight champion and go even further and conquer multiple weight classes like his talent leads us to believe? Im not sure, we would have to get solid facts about his lifestyle, but for all we know there could be a a kid that's going under the radar that will dethrone Gamboa and prevent him from fulfilling his talent.

I'm hoping he becomes a P4P type guy. He has a very entertaining style and has the vulnerability that makes him exciting to watch. I can't wait for Friday Night Fights.

There's absolutely no question that he will be a belt holder, but beyond that no one can say as of yet.

I think he will be a stronger force soon, but he needs to clear up his defensive flaws first. If he could be shaped into a complete fighter over time, he will be one of the best out there. His talent surpasses a lot of fighters right now, but that alone won't steer his career upward.

i dont think his 'vulnerabilities' as someone mentioned are that big...the last fight the VERY BRIEF "knockdown" was from the guy throwing a HUGE elbow to his face..he got rocked with the forearm/elbow just like what Jones did to Calzaghe and knocked him down with. Gamboa sprung up immediately and pounced on the guy like I never seen and destroyed him utterly.

He was stunned before that though from a left hook and then he was dropped with an elbow. After that Gamboa was rocked again, then in the second round before the knockout he was stunned again. He has extraordinary talent, but if he steps up two early he will be beaten.

I think he can go far, but i think he needs to become smarter in the ring with his hands so low... when u start fighting the elite of the elite, there going to counter punch you when you come in... someone like JMM would really take advantage of gamboas low hands... but hes unbelievably QUICK, and thats not something you can teach.. he has natural ability, he can really build on that, and if he does, he could become great..
