I just watched his fight with Rivera last night and thought to myself, jeez that was in 2007, what happened to him since then?

A UD loss to Joachim Alcine
A win over Mike McFail (lmao) in 2008.

Nothing since then. Dude is 38 so maybe he retired? He looked sharp as hell against Rivera that's for sure. I haven't seen his two fights since then.

Last I checked on Boxrec, both him and Louis Collazo have fights coming up in the same night. Not against each other though.

You're right, he has something listed for 06-20-2009, no opponent listed. Radisson Hotel, Columbia, South Carolina.

I take it Simms must have had some injuries? He beat Bronco McKart in 2004, but didn't fight in '05 and '06, then fought Rivera in 07, looked great, then basically fell off again.

What happened to his twin brother Tarvis Simms as well. Apparently he had promotional difficulties.

iF YOU ask me Travis got the better of the two names.

Simms is 38 years old. After he lost to Alcine he should've been climbing back up the ranks with good fights but instead he's fighting in the boxing dead zone that is South Carolina.

haha, that just fucked me up. I had to boxrec him for confirmation, he's undefeated but against lesser opponents.

After the Rivara fight, Travis' posse was going nuts, lol, mostly his wife/manager and some other **** talkin women. funny ****

Tarvis and Travis used to be on Friday Night Fights often.

Tarvis was an excellent amateur. Shows what bad promoting can do.

I bet you anything Iceman Scully knows them both well.

Even though Travis Simms was kind of too technical with his style for my taste, I actually viewed him as a very solid fighter. The dude had knockout power even though he was sort of economical with his offense and he was slick on top of it. I saw his fight with Jose Rivera on Showtime and I was impressed. Then he looked totally flat against Joacim Alcime and lost that fight. Goes to show you when Don King keeps you on the shelf like he does with pratically all his fighters that lack of activity will hurt you.
