HOLY ****! Steve Albert quits!!

It appears that veteran blow-by-blow man Steve Albert, who has been at ringside for SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING since 1987, will not return in 2009. Reportedly the new man behind the mike will be Gus Johnson, well known for doing NCAA basketball and NFL football on CBS as well as NBA basketball for the New York Knicks. An official announcement is expected shortly.

I liked Albert as well. I love Gus Johnson's ncaa and nfl calls though. solid broadcaster always pumped for the event
