Injuries you buffoon. No mention of Glencoffe pulling out of talks for a third attempt at the fight? It's hardly in the same ballpark as Hopkins agreeing terms in 2002 and then reneging on them.

Fair do's, I didn't think anyone could make this thread more ******ed but you did it.

_Hunter_ is an abject waste of textbox, agreed.

Of the Brits listed, though, I'd except Clegg from your indictment. He's decent.

Poll is ridiculous by definition, anyway.

And you have google I assume, you can look it up yourself and post it for us to see.

Please include which fights you actually watched and how you scored them compared to the judges. I'll then render my own opinion on those fights. Thanks in advance!
You said it yourself, Calzaghe was injured.

fighter get injured all the time Calzaghe has pulled out a couple of time, once against Lacy too if you remember. He has also had fighters pull out on him through injury, it's a sport, people get injured.

I of course do know Glen johnson record at SMW, he fought 11 times in that period, he won five, lost six.

His losses where to worse opposition than those you slate Calzaghe for facing, two could be construed as close and one an outright robbery, one of many against a particular fighter who has a history of robbing opponents.

Sheika for example beat Johnson but got Ko'd by Calzaghe having lost every round one fight later, it doesn't strike my that Calzaghe would have a reason to duck a guy like that so i have to put it down as him being injured as the reports suggest.

But it's nice to have you back Bz, i missed you

              Oh really?

So he had injuries but then Glen ducked him? Gotcha. I love how that works.

Fight is signed. Training camp starts. injuries. Fight is rescheduled. Training camp all the stuff that goes into fight prep- injury again.

Joe says wait around for me. Glen says you aren't serious about this I can't wait around I need a fight for my career. And goes on about his business. But Glen pulled out of talks?

And what does this have to do with Hopkins? Joe fans once again reaching low and distracting from the main point.

But fair enough: The Hopkins "terms" were not the same as the Glen terms. Glens fights were signed and official. Hopkins agreed over the phone VERBALLY then asked for more money when he examined the contract and realized this was his chance to break away from Don King (getting his last mandatory out of the way and being done with Don for cheap). But that's okay Joe's fans wouldn't know about Don King's tournament, his contracts, Hopkins desire to leave Don King or anything other than Joe, right?

LOL@bringing Hopkins up. Yeah because everyone was fearing a ****ing backyard WBO champ who never stepped up to fight in any big names (oh I'm sorry the corpse of Chris Eubank and Willy ****in Mcyntire and just go look at how highly regarded the WBO belt was back then or even now- it's basically ****).

What was your score to the Sheika / Glen fight?

I mean theoretically given your statements we could also infer that Joe outright ducked Sven Ottke

I think anyone who fought Ottke in Germany without blackmailing the Judges first need their head examined, that guy had 5-6 wins on a par with valuev and the Reid and first Brewer fight was two of the worst disicions I have ever seen.

I have only seen the highlights of the Shieka/Glen fight not the entire fight, in 2000 I was sat in the med on a warship for the last 6 months of the year (start June -start Dec) and had to rely on my dad sending out VHS tapes.

But having watched the Skeika/johnson fight and the Shieka/Calzaghe fight on the same tape or at least in the same batch of tapes i don't think Johnson would have lasted 6 rounds against Calzaghe at SMW.
