Yes I understand your logic but that logic applies if you are strong enough to carry that game plan out. I think Cotto is stronger and hits harder than Mosley and couldn't fend off Marg, why would you think Mosley can do this?

As far as the Tyson compairison, Tyson even though was 5'10-11" was much stronger than most of his opponents. He also had a devastating punch that would cause any man to go backwards when he came forward with those winging punches, Mosley can't hurt Marg with onr punch like that.

I think Mosley loses by KO to be honest but if he does fight the perfect fight, he should move, hold when inside and NOT trade with Margarito. Keep Marg chasing him all night and pick him off with shots from the outside even if he's the smaller man. Because Marg doesn't use his size to his advantage very well yet is a very good in fighter for being so tall and lanky.
whether Mosley will be able to do what it takes to beat Margarito is the question that needs answered, but I think he has the potential to do this. Also, Cotto is a different style of fighter than Mosley and employed a failed strategy against Margarito. You can in fact make the argument that Cotto until the end of round 6 was doing what was necessary and beating Margarito. But it seemed that Cotto decided he would put on a boxing clinic against Margarito and when that started going south he didnt have the energy and had sustained too much damage to push back and fight the fight he needed to.

I think it all comes down to whether or not Margarito will be affected by Mosley's power and the fact that Mosley will do a lot of grappling on the inside that may really throw off Margarito's usual style. This truly could be Marg's undoing. He lives on his chin and I dont care what people say Mosley can crack. Cotto simply moved well enough, had the faster hands and jab to keep Mosley from setting and countering much with his power shots. Mosley's best punch landed on Cotto was his chopping right. Against Margarito he will have the faster hands and he will land counters as did Cotto. Will it be enough? Maybe not but damn is this an interesting matchup.

This is the problem I have when hearing people make the case for Cotto. Not only was his strategy exact and what he should have done but he couldn't have fought a better fight.

As a mtter of fact, watch the fight again and see how Max Kellerman and Emmanuel Stewart are calling the fight perfectly. They are saying how Cotto is doing great and his corners strategy is great but how Marg's agression is too much for Cotto to handle.

His strategy wasn't the problem it was Cotto's lack of physical strength that lost him the fight. Unless Cotto grows 4 inches and gets magically stronger, I don't see that fight going any different no matter what Cotto does.

You are very negative towards Shane my man Larry...Shane is what 5'10 to Marg 5'11 and Shane has fought at 154 so I dont see the dramatic size difference everyone is talking about. Mayorga fought as high as 170 and Mosley was able to muscle on the inside with that moron....Mosley will put up a fight and will be able to push back against Marg you wait and see. I love when everyone counts the older fighter out because he has one bad showing. If that were the case Hopkins should have stopped fighting after his second lss to JT? Mark my words this will be a very competitive fight and if it not for Cotto wanting the rematch with Marg so badily and both of them being promoted by Top Rank and the Mexican and PR fans behind them this fight between Mosley and Margarito would have never happened before the rematch and you mark my words Mosley will end the fight on his feet. If so he has a very ood chance of winning the fight 7-5 8-4.....Lefty

I cant knock your prediction.. Shane has never been stopped and only down once... so to say Margarito is going to STOP him is saying a lot.

Will be interesting to see how Shane deals w/the constant pressure for twelve rounds tho'.,..

I want to see how Marg deals with Shane pushing back jabbing him and hooking at his body. i know Marg has a good chin but Shane has a mean left hook to the body and head. Cotto was unable to dish that combo out much which is Cotto's best by the way because every time he leaned in to do so at least after the 4th round or so Marg fired 3 and 4 upper cuts. Cotto was starting to feel the affects of the punches and doest take a punch nearly as well as Mosley. So My question is to Margarito how is he going to deal with Shane not cracking under the pressure like Cotto and others have? .....Lefty

I said this earlier and I will say it again a jab doesnt have to be the best to be pesky and annoying. It can also just be something to hide your right hand behind too just ask Lennox Lewis about hiding and not letting the other boxers see the right hand coming. Shane had a good enough jab to blow up Vargas' eye. I think he can use his jab if he wants. I know Paul Williams used hi jab and his jab isnt too stiff he kinda back hands it sometimes.....Lefty
