    Vitali vs. Haye - WTF?

So is this fight off for real now?

Initially, I wanted to see Haye go through Wladimir before even thinking about the elder Klitschko, as I didn't think he really had any business being in a ring with Vitali if he couldn't navigate the more knockoutable one first. But since Haye made that announcement of a verbal agreement to fight Vitali, I'd been getting more and more psyched about seeing it, to the point where I'm really disappointed if it isn't happening. I was imagining it as the centerpiece to a prospectively solid spring/summer boxing calendar for 2009.

Also, it was my girl's big wish to see Haye get knocked silly by Vitali. She's been psyched about it for a month and I was planning to take us both to the fight so she could see him put some hurt on Haye live and in person. Wlad KO'ing Haye is just not going to be quite as special for her.

If Vitali vacating the WBC and making it a non-title affair was always going to be a barrier to this fight, why announce the **** like it was all but signed? Everyone involved must have known the WBC wouldn't bend. This kind of crap is par for the course, but in this instance it's doubly irritating.

Wlad said in an interview yesterday he wants to fight Haye in 2009.

That would be the better option for Haye. He has a much better chance against Wlad than Vitali. Plus if he beats Wlad it builds up an even bigger fight between him and Vitali.

Whichever one he beats he gets a bigger fight against the brother next..

Fingers crossed he sparks both the ****ers out cold.

Accordin to Haye just before x-mas the fight had already been signed. they was just after a venue for it then it would be annouced.

I don't know too much about the Heavweight class, cus they're boring as fcuk, but Haye vs. Vitali? Isn't Vitali a little bigger? I've never seen Haye box, but i'd like him to win, but the way things are....Vitali might take this one.

Whatever's been said about the Klitchkos, they be hella knockin fools.

Yeah. Thing is, Haye beating Wlad is still a big conjecture at this stage, which means my girl's dream of seeing Vitali dismantle Haye is now a long way off. Even assuming David ****s Wladimir out, Vitali-Haye --- Brotherly Vengeance : Part IV --- probably won't happen until the end of 2009. Damn.

The stories I'm finding now are that it's looking like Vitali-Gomez for March and Wladimir-Haye later in spring/summer. Was googling for it because our lass was reading this board last night and told me Vitali-Haye was off for sure.

Vitali was never planning to fight Gomez and Haye within 3 months of each other, was he?
Expected it to be a case of Vitali vacating to clear a path to fight Haye...which would have been a shame since Haye hasn't proved enough to make him the kind of title-transcending opponent worth dropping a belt for ordinarily, but I assumed the dearth of excitement at heavyweight and the buzz around an event of this size would have the final say in the matter.
