Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton Agree on Las Vegas - May 2

After a few short weeks of back and forth negotiations, both Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton have agreed to stage their May 2 bout in Las Vegas. Hatton's side was attempting to have the fight take place in England. Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, who represent Hatton, has advised the Los Angeles Times that both fighters are now on the same page. [details]

Thanks for the info... I already thought it was finalized but I remember hearing problems about the venue. Now I have to stay up till 6 in the morning to watch the fight I wish it was in England. Ah well it will be worth it... should be a great event.

Vegas is the only place where they can charge $5000 per seat.

Well the good news for Manny is he doesn't have to go to England. The bad news is...he still has to put up with "there's only ooooooonnnnne Ricky Hatton!" for the entire bout. LoL.

Even is the fight was not in the US, it would be staged in a time slot that would be favourable to the US viewing audience. So either way you're going to get screwed on the start time of this fight.

It's in Vegas because the fighters will make more money there. Big site fee will be paid by the casinos in order to have the fight there. If you're going to get your face smashed in to make a living, wouldn't you take the most money you could get for a fight?
