Vitali comes in right and injury free, he beats Gomez and possibly stops him.
Gomez was out of shape and had been partying a lot before the Diaz fight. He's fully focused for this one...

But I'm confident Vitali will prevail, in a tough fight.

I hope Vitali fights three times this year. He can do this one, the other much easier mandatory with Maskaev in summer, and do a voluntary in the fall.

I've just watched Dwyer of GamblersAdvisory.com and was pleasantly surprised to hear that he's backing Gomez. It looks as though not everybody is sleeping on Gomez after all.

Just want to see Vitali tested ya kno? Overweight Peter-Williams-Johnson. Gomez is definitely lackin in height lack all of them but at least in shape and ready to go it sounds like. I'll root for Gomez but even at little over 4:1 odds I won't bet on him.

                Go Gomez!!!!

In a perfect world, Juan Carlos Gomez would have got a title shot years ago. We would all prefer to see these fighters when they are at their peak. Gomez was ready for prime time when he beat Sinam Samil Sam on an HBO undercard. On that night he was throwing one hundred punches a round and making an otherwise decent opponent appear lackluster.

In terms of tactics against Vitali, all Gomez can do is use what speed he has left to tag the big man with jabs while stepping around that wicked left hook. Perhaps he could throw quick combos on the inside before tying him up. It's still unlikely to work but I love underdogs so I'll be rooting for the black panther.

The word coming out of his camp is that his old speed is back and he's as fit as ever.

Vitali wins a ko in this one, this is why people don't like him, because his fights are all foregone conclusions.
