Who was really the most avoided welter?

I know people have always made the case for Tony. While I do feel alot of people did not want to fight him ealier due to the high risk low reward theroy, it seems to be the complete opposite since he has had some big fights under his belt. I think Paul williams has been ducked due to his size matchup issues. The guy I think people forget about though is Clottey. He truly is a big risk. Not a huge name but a good fighter. Gave Tony all sorts of problems before hurting his hand. The guys who claim they were ducked aren't even that interested in fighting him. Out of all the belt holders at Welter he may actually have it the worst. After the Cintron fight i hope somebody lets him onto the big stage. Thoughts?

Also Clottey may be one of the most difficult welter to beat right now.

Clottey right now brings the least reward with the highest risk. The Williams camp bypassed Clottey for Quintana for Paul's first belt defense. That alone tells us that Clottey is the most avoided WW.

Avoided by who? Tell me who should have fought him and when? I don't buy Williams ducking him at all.

The biggest duck in the last few years was Floyd ducking Cotto. To me ducking is a very public matter, aka the public wants the fight and the challenger wants the fight, and the champion won't make the fight. For instance, Rid**** Bowe actually vacated a title just so he wouldn't have to fight Lennox.

I hear you but don't Forget Marg walked away from the rematch after terms were close to being reached. There was a point where he was supposed to fight Williams but for whatever reason that fell through. He is being avoided for the same reason Marg was at first. Tough fight small reward. People wanted Cotto/Floyd for a while you are right. Now many want Marg/Floyd but that was only after he was better known to the non hardcore fans. People will still say that Floyd ducked Marg but that fight didn't reach its full potential until recently. It depends on what you call ducking. My point is even the guys that say they were ducked arent too interested in Clottey. Thats all.

I am pretty sure at one point, Mayweather, Spinks, Judah, De La Hoya, Mosley, and Mayorga have all declined to fight Margarito.

Now some of those guys would love to him cause he is a meal ticket. In fact Mosley is fighting him for that pay day.

Maybe not. But it makes a lot more sense to fight him now than it did two years ago.
