    Convince Me: Ishe Smith

Where would Ishe Smith be without Greg Leon and Boxinggtalk? I don't disagree with his own boasting of his abilities... I simply disagree that he has them to begin with. Ishe does everything well... and nothing spectacularly! Is there anyone who can convince me he's more than a B-Level fighter?

Ishe is a solid fighter and a legit test for anyone, but he can't punch worth ****.

Even worse the guy doesn't let his hands go. He has that sparring partner mentality. Never seems to lead and push the pace of a fight. Just give work.

Frankly, I'm tired of hearing this guy speak about how "every year" is going to be his year and dedicating fights to "this guy and that guy" (Chico) because Chico came to fight.......Ishe doesn't.

Now he's saying Kirkland is scared because he won't fight him. Dude, they offered the fight twice to you already! Newsflash, the Kirkland doesn't have to fight you on your time. You have to fight on his because he's the guy they are hyping.

At last count, I've only seen him win one fight on television so Ishe needs to keep quiet with his daily quotes and get a job working for ********** or something.

No disrespect, Ishe's a world class boxer. But he just doesn't have the goods to back up what his mouth's been trying to cash for the last 5 years. Bankrupt.

I was there when he fought Pawel Wolak overthe summer and let me tell you...this dude Pawel Wolak is TOUGH, he's like a modern day jake lamotta they call him the Raging bull...and I've never seen anbybody back himup this was the 2nd time I saw wolak fight. And man, this dude Ishe Smith busted this guy up with so many uppercuts... He's a real pro, that's what I would say about Ishe, he's a pro...but he'll never be a real star, and he lacks real power

I like Ishe, he's got loads of talent, but when he climbs into the ring it never looks like he's really making an effort to win.

Now that Joe Greene is pulling out of the Sergio Martinez fight, Ishe is saying he's ready to step in at the last minute... good for him for accepting the risk, but his defense better be in full effect if he expects to do anything against Sergio.

I was at the Ishe Smith - Joel Julio fight. That was a good fight man. Ishe did really well too. If the man would keep a steady flow of punches you could have gotten somewhere. I dont know how much time he's got left though.

Tired of hearing about Smith. He is a B-level fighter. Everytime he needs to step up into the limelight and show people/the world what he has he doesn't. Plus most of his fights are boring. LOL at him calling out Kirkland.. he just wants to get payed, even he knows he doesn't have too much time left to collect some dough before he has to go bak to the contender tours just to make a buck

Smith has to fight to win. The sparring partner mentality is absolutely there it seems.

I like Smith. He has his own website, and he goes onto forums and interracts with his fans personally. I once sent him an email asking what was up with him when he hadn't been fighting after the contender, and he personally replied. He seems like a really cool guy.

He just doesn't have that mentality that he is going to grab fights and take them. He is all too willing to lose close decisions.
