it all boils down to racism.

the fact he beats up the blacks pisses people off.

he is like a superman genius god:wank::wank::wank:

seriously who really gives a feck about him and whether or about the americans hating/loving him.

I don't think there is any rational reason for the criticism he gets for his style or his level of opposition. Just look at the accusations of ducking he gets. I'll analyze his potential opponents throughout his career from the point of view of people who have decided they dislike him:

"Prime" Hopkins: Why is Joe, a Super Middleweight, picking on smaller guys? Hopkins is too small to fight Calzaghe, Calzaghe is a coward for avoiding people his size.

"Prime" Glen Johnson: Johnson just got beat by Bernard Hopkins. Why is Calzaghe fighting the loser when he should be fighting Hopkins?

Prime Roy Jones Jr: Why is Calzaghe running away from the big fights in his own weight class to fight at light heavyweight? He is ducking James Toney, Glen Johnson and Bernard Hopkins.

James Toney: Why isn't he fighting Roy Jones Jr? Why is he fighting Roy's vanquished opponents?

Chad Dawson: Why does he only fight inexperienced fighters? Who has Chad Dawson beaten other than a shot Glen Johnson and a shot Antonio Tarver and a wight drained Tomazs Adamek?

Glen Johnson: Are you kidding? There are people who will criticize Calzaghe for fighting "old washed up Hopkins and Jones" who will in their next breath state that he is ducking Glen Johnson.

There is essentially an automatic gainsaying of anything Calzaghe does, which borders on the absurd.

I certainly am not a fan.
He gets by on athleticism but he could have been a much better fighter
if he would have had a [
B]real trainer and not someone named Enzo[/B].
I agree. Didnt Enzo learn to be a trainer from reading a book or something?

No. Wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference. Any real fans would have appreciated a certain irony in both cases, anyway.

He got no respect for the Hopkins win cuz it was too close, and none for the Jones win cuz RJ was old.

Yes, I agree, Joe shouldn't have disrespected possibly the least respectful fighter of all time.

Yet Jermain Taylor gets credit for it not only once, but twice.

But then again, JT IS a black American...

i dont really like or care for joe but i can respect the skills he has and respect him for being a fighter..

i dont really enjoy the fact that he clowned and old ass roy but **** happens.. i would of liked to see how he would of fared against a prime roy but we shall never know..

i dont think he beat hopkins either but i can see how the judges gave him the nod..

my main thing with joe is in my opinion he never went out of his to fight great opposition.. he would of been embraced by the american critics if he would of came to the usa earlier ala prince naseem, lennox, hatton, etc

thats because taylor beat or atleast arguably beat, a younger and better hopkins at b-hops best weight, when he was still on hes streak of defences

its got nothin to do with being black or american

Keep telling yourself that, and maybe one day you might actually believe it.

Everyone knows being a black american gets you a free ride on these forums, anyone who criticises you is automatically racist.

White fighters (especially non-american white fighters) have it harder here, FACT.
