i started training a couple month back. but i had to stop because i did not have time to train anymore. im going to start again but i wont go to a gym until i lose some weight. im 6'3" 230 pound. i would like to go down to about 160 or around there. im going to start running and i would like to know how many miles should i run and how often. and what should be my goal to reach in mileage. should i do shadow boxing at home. should i buy protein shakes?? my pictures is in the avatar so im not fight. i just have big tight and a lil fat in the belly

Go to the gym first, then lose the weight. And don't buy protein shakes.

yeah protein shakes will bulk you up. Get down the gym it should give you more motivation. You can buy supplements that "lose weight" but id go natural. You can never do too much running when trying to lose weight

Protein shakes are good if you are training extremely hard. They don't necessarily cause you to bulk up, what they will do is give you an extra boost when it comes to repairing tissue damaged by intense training. They are a complete waste of time and money if you are not training thoroughly enough (and by that I mean training five days a week for a fight or the like).

Start by running a mile for a couple of weeks. Try anf get your 1 mile time down to about 7 minutes. Then up it to about 3 miles. Try and run 3 miles in less than 25 minutes. But above all, when you finished jogging you should be panting. Some people jog and their not even out breath after the workout, that's not the best way to burn fat.
