No, he didn't he's been fighting old or ****ty fighters.

How ignorant are you that you forget Margarito years back called out the bigger Winky and was willing to move up to face him? How you forget. Instead Winky refused and Margs went back and put in the work of defending his title and challenging all on comers.

Williams is running around jumping in weight making him stronger yet he still wants to fight at weltweight? For what? A payday. But he hasn't put in the work. He couldn't even properly defend his title on his first try.

Williams did nothing like the work Margarito put in at welterweight to act like his **** don't stink and why he run from Clottey and Quintanna still wants that 3rd match even going up in weight to chase Williams.

And people, need to understand Winky and Quintanna are differnt fighters. Winky don't box any more, he'll be stationary for Williams.

How ignorent are you to not give anybody outside of margarito any credit, i rememer margarito going up in weight and getting an L. i remember him getting some Ls againts nobodys. and those defences you talked about what happend when he tried to defend againts williams? he lost, and it was in an area you can consider margaritos back yard. Before you call some one ignorent make sure you know what your talking about. You cant talk **** about the fighter who beat your boy, just because it hurt you personaly, learn boxing outside of mexican fighters then i will consider you a true boxing fan

Winky hasnt fought for a year and a half.......and is like 37...........if this was 2 years ago, winky would win 120-108.....but theres no telling how he is right now, so p will probably sees him as small threat, big name reward....

none of the other names really want him, marg is pre-occupied and hasn't exactly been chasing the rematch with PW, cotto is too small but even then he is coming off a loss, berto and collazo are still trying to make their impact on the WW's and clottey offered to fight at 154 but hes not a big name at LMW and doesn't bring his title with him.

winky is still seen as a great LMW, beating him would give PW the right to stake a claim that he is the best in the division and who knows maybe that will tempt marg into a unification match-up.

i know that winky is a danergous fight but PW is a very good fighter, if nothing else he will learn alot from fighting one of the best defensive boxer ever. besides making 154 or 160 even isn't going to be easy for winky. to say that he might have a little bit of ring rust is an understatement and i expect PW to set a high workrate and give him hell for the first few rounds. i think this fight is something to get excited about and more even than you might think.

1st off let me say that these are 2 of my favorite fighters but I just dont think this fight makes sense for Williams. I know he cant get the big fights or money and that Winky gives him some of that but a Winky fight wont make but so much money and it brings super high risk along with it. Williams is a physical freak and has advantages over most guys but Winky is a very big guy his ownself. Williams size wont affect Winky at all. Then you have Williams who's not maybe a power fighter like Margarito but he still pushes alot of guys around but Winky is big & strong enough to where Williams cant do that. We already know about his D which could give Williams alot of troubles but most of all he is a Southpaw.

I still say that being a Southpaw is a super huge advantage in sports and most people will have trouble with them, including southpaws themselves. I always say that Cotto and Margarito are clearly better then Quintana but I bet that Quintana will probably beat Williams more times then the other 2 would if they fought a 100 times because his Southpaw style gave Williams trouble and Winky can do the same. He can do what Quintana did times 10. Now obviously Winky is past his prime and has been very inactive but until I see him fall completely flat, I still will make him a very very very very live dog against anyone because he's that good. Lets say that Winky looks good and pulls off the win? Then what happeneds to Williams? He'll never get close to another Margarito or Cotto fight. There already waiting for an excuse not to fight him again and if he loses this time then its over for him. It just doesnt make sense to me.

Im not saying that he should fight bums, Im just saying "dont fight Winky". I wouldnt even mind if he fought a Clottey, Mosley, or Cintron but Winky? Thats crazy to me. If you asked me what would be Williams worst nightmare, I would probably say Winky. Wouldnt you? Someone just as big as him, with good D, who is also a Southpaw, is a master boxer, has top notch D, and all the experince in the world. Williams better win or he's a fool. Again, Winky maybe washed up and Williams might kill him but thats a big assumption to make. Pavlik made that assumption about Hopkins and it didnt workout right. Williams has way more to lose then Pavlik does. Pavlik can still go right back to the top of MW but Williams wont get anything if he loses

Williams wants recognition that could be achieved by beating Winky. Also Winky will be fighting off an extremely long layoff, what an opportunity for Williams and Williams will be have been acclimated to a higher weight. I have doubts that he will be able to handle a prime Winky but guess what, it wont be a prime Winky so I think ths is a good risk on Williams part.

I agree with DLT here. Despite the loss to Quintana, PWill still has managed to build an aura about himself that keeps his name floating around the elite in boxing. I thinki he is risking that unneccessarily in this fight with Winky. Even if he goes on to dominate Winky I will still feel the same that they should have just skipped this fight. I just don't see this doing anything for his career. He should have looked elsewhere for a match imo.

You Wililams fans need to stop doging Margarito. He is a welterweight at welterweight. Where is Wililams? At Middleweight. So stop it already. Williams wants a fight with Marg or Cotto then get his annerexic ass back at welterweight or stop complaining about Margarot or other welterweights not wanting to fight him which is bull****. Clottey is still waiting for Williams to make that fight but instead Williams runs up in weight cause he's a big guy who is having problems making weight. He's just waiting for that big payday or moving up for that big payday he don't want to put in the work he thinks everybody owes him.

Actually from what I have heard, PWill wanted the fight, Clottey wanted the fight, but HBO didn't want the fight.
