By Brent Matteo Alderson - Not to diminish Manny Pacquiao’s accomplishment, he’s a first ballot hall-of-famer and the kind of fighter that would have been great in any era, but Oscar De La Hoya was dead at the weight.
The author of the piece is right, but ,not to put too fine a point on it,Oscar's weight issues do diminish Manny's accomplishment.
wow!! What this writer is saying is that delahoya, beristein and all those in his training camp does not know what they're doing. oh common!!!
how long have delahoya been fighting? to say he doesn't know what he's doing is just wrong. and also nacho beristein was also there, how many world champions have he trained in his very long and experience career?
why cant this writer just say that delahoya faced a fresher and quicker guy, whats wrong with that? every fighter will face someone better or quicker, why make excuses for the guy?
its silly how this writer defends delahoya, again its silly!!!
all i here are excuses blah blah blah..... you dont here it from ODLH during training where he is according to him, very strong and very fast and in great physical condition... lolz ^_^. you never heard from his trainers that he was not in great physical condition.
these are not excuses,it's true,he looked sick to me,sooo skinny, awful,i mean to not gain much weight at fight night? come on,manny is good, but oscar made him look good too,an old oscar,an oscar with nothing in him..
This guy Hoya and his dumb ass backers are so tired. Hoya knew exactly what he was doing and it backfired in his face(good). We all know that in the past 2-3 yrs...Hoya has done nothing but try and fight people to have an edge. All seasoned fans know that as you grow older you naturally gain weight and if your going to stay in the boxing business, the warriors usually move up in weight. So what the hell was Hoya doing? Trying to bully and get bullied (good) ...What he should have been doing like a man was move into the weight he should be in like 160 and fight the guys he should be fighting,,,,thing is I see brutal knockout and career ending....Trinidad washed up? I say Hoya fight Trinidad at 160 or call Margarito up to 154-160 .Im sure that will make Margarito finally man-up(if not for just this one fight). These nuthuggers have an already written made up excuse for each weight division Hoya decides to fight in. Hoya has been runing so hard and fast to stay anywhere as far as possible from Trinidads weight that while he was running into the lower weight and looking back he ran into Pacquiao's fist. Look at Trinidads last 3 fights and Hoyas last three ..then ask yourself if Trinidad or Hoya is afraid of anything.
Oscar looked horrible and with the many examples given its obvious that oscar was not 100%. None of us are fighters and will never know what it is to be in there after losing all that weight so we have no say in this matter..lets see how oscar looks next time he fights
