For people who still believe in DLH

I've never been an Oscar De La Hoya fan. Yeah, sure he used to be a good boxer and winning the gold medal is truly an accomplishment.

However, these days why still all the hubbub? DLH hasn't won any of the elite matches he was up against. Hopkins, Trinidad, Mosely (2), Mayweather and Pacquiao. He lost ALL of those fights, in bad form not to mention.

So why are people still believing that Oscar De La Hoya is a forces to reckon with? Maybe in the 90's yeah sure i could see that. But his boxing or fighting abilities surely have decreased since the early milenium. Why still all the hubbub?

Now he's still think about fighting after being embarassed by Pacquiao? DLH has a confidence issue. Freddie Roach even addressed it himself. How is he going to conjur enough confidence to beat his next opponent?

In the 90's DLH was something. Not a Mike Tyson, but he did appeal to the crowd. I like to think it's because of his good looks and his manners, not because of his boxing skill.

In the early 2000's, he started to go down hill. I think people gave him too much credit for knocking out Mayorga.

IMO, DLH should move on from the ring and stick to promoting

Everything aside, Oscar is still a good boxer and can definitely beat some people out there.... whether that means fighting the ELITE fighters seems doubtful, he can still be competitive with relatively good competition in my opinion.

Who wants to see that? Yeah, sure he can beat "club" fighters or mediorce fighters but is that what he's about now?

The funny thing is that when people mention DLH they talk about how he used to be. Speaking in past tenses is bad form.

That's why everyone though DLH would going to beat Pacquiao. Becuase of how DLH used to fight.

The fight may have been more competitive, but i don't think DLH would have won that Paco fight even if he were in his 20's.

            The Mosely fight??

I'll tell you what...lemme check out a DLH highlight reel real quick and i'll try and see what all these other people have been blowing out of proporation, saying DLH is one of the greats.

In the early 2000's he gave Vargas a good ass whooping too before Vargas was shot. But yes besides that he has lost alot of tough fights against World Class competition. Poin tin his favor he always has fought the best fighters out there in their primes. Even little ole Manny is in his prime right now and Oscar fought him.Oscar well one thing you can never say about Oscar is that he fight fighter who are shot and pasted their prime....Lefty

Fcuk yeah!! The De La Hoya now or then would still get whooped on by Pacquiao.

I dunno. Maybe i don't see what everyone else is seeing. I've never been too thrilled by DLH style. And when he started losing in the early 2000's, i definately didn't buy it.

                  I dunno. Not my steez.

SUre he may be a "Has Benn" but people will still pay to watch him fight... (Nobody I know)

He is making lots of change, he is milking it while he can. After he loses to Chavez Jr, Chavez will join Golden Boy
