Alex Perez Named Main Event of 1/22 Darwish Brothers Show

East Rutherford, NJ- Undefeated prospect Alex "The Brick City Bullet" Perez will make his first ring appearance in over a year as the main event of the Darwish Brothers Knockout Promotions show at the Meadowlands Sheraton Hotel in East Rutherford, NJ. Perez, 9-0 with 6 knockouts, is a southpaw power puncher from Newark, NJ. Standing 6'1, this welterweight cuts an imposing figure over all of his opposition. His opponent will be named shortly.
"It is an honor to be a part of this show," says Perez, 26. "I actually made my pro debut on one of their cards. I have a lot of respect for the Darwish Brothers, they take good care of their fighters."
Perez, a graduate of Newark's Central High School, amassed an amateur record of 46-3, racking up two NJ Golden Gloves titles, three Diamond Gloves titles and a New Jersey Amateur State championship.
In the gym, Alex Perez has worked with many top fighters, including former welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, Joel Julio and two-time middleweight champion Felix Sturm. That experience has helped shape him into a world caliber fighter.
"Being in there with those quality fighters has given me a lot of confidence. When I get in the ring, I feel if I can beat whoever is in front of me."
"We've liked what we've seen from Alex since the first time we saw him fight," said the Darwish Brothers, Wally and Hani. "Watching his maturation as both a man and a fighter, we've grown to care about him. He has a great future in the sport and will one day become a world champion. We just want to be there when he does."
Also featured on the card will be fan favorites Archak Ter-Meliksetian, Noriko Kariya, Carlos Zambrano, Victor Valenzuela, Elvin Sanchez, Tyyab Beale and Rashad Bogar in separate bouts.
