The saddest part of this is that the British think Americans care about this bull****. Americans root for fighters... not the country they're from. This isn't the World Cup.
The British on the other hand... having so little to be proud of will scream their support for whatever turd their country ****s out in a pathetic and delusional attempt to restore their land to the stature it once held.Comment

Im from England, as you can tell, and this is one of the things that get to me most about the so called Hatton and Calzaghe fans. There fans are NOT boxing fans. They are just patriotic about their English and Welsh fighter.
3/4 quarters of the fans, HAVE NO BOXING KNOWLEDGE WHAT SO EVER... and this is true.
Over in England we have a radio station called talk sport. After Mayweather ****ed up Hatton, these Hatton fans were calling up talk sport , as they could'nt believe how good Mayweather was... Wtf? And i can gurantee, that was the first Mayweather fight they'd seen.
This is what i mean, all these fans that come across the atlantic to watch Hatton and Calzaghe are not boxing fans, they are just fans of the fighters. They have no boxing knowledge and would'nt watch any other fighter apart from Hatton or/and Calzaghe.Comment

This dynamic works exactly if you use it to describe Americans.
Boxing isn't mainstream in either country; simple as.Comment
