Why is Deontay Wilder moving so slow?

The only US to medal in the Olympics has only fought once so far and his next fight isn't until March 6 in Columbus, OH. Other big names from the US Olympic team that have turned pro are doing like 2 fights a month.

He's only been boxing since 2005 so I suspect they want to be careful.
They don't want him to end up like Michael Bennett or other Olympians that failed miserably in the pros.

2 fights a month? Wilder is moving slower than some of the other Olympians that have turned pro but he's not moving that slow and him and his management probably know he has a bit to work on in the gym so they should take it slow, he's a raw talent right now.

Andrade has had 2 fights, Estrada the same, their next fights haven't been announced yet.

To me he looks like a super talented guy who has next to no amateur experience and he needs to do some serious filling out if he wants to fight at HW. He does need to fight more than 3 or 4 times a year at this point, but they need to be very careful who they put him in there with right now.

They should give him an opponent per month, like Wlad had in his first year as a pro.

Being busy helps a young fighter improve. Tyson wasn't much as an amateur, but his 18 fights his first year as a pro certainly helped his development.
