With the Break out star award, is this more like Prospect to look out for award?

If so, I like Gamboa but think Juan Ma Lopez should take this one. Three 1st round KO's in 2008, thats one BREAKOUT performance in my opinion. I still want to see Juan Ma go this distance but his latest wins were impressive enough for me to keep tabs on.

2009 is here boxing fans, cant wait to see how the year goes down.

Not even close. Opponent for opponent Gamboa was matched much tougher. Two of the guys Lopez fought were just terrible. The last guy said he took a dive.

Three 1st round KO's were impressive to me. Lopez's last opponent Medina was a viable opponent. Theirs PDL whos a tough dude and Figueroa, all of these fighters were durable. It aint Juan Ma's fault some of them didnt come fight, but they aint bums.

I thought boxing this year on paper was great alot of fights at the end of the year.

But it leaves a sour taste because of the way some of the fights turned out being boring and such but on paper it looked awesome.

Yes, it was more prospect oriented but it was open to interpretation.

Matthews-Lindsay was one of the year's best KOs.
