What a lot of people don't understand is that the UFC could easily pay their fighters a huge chunk of what they're making, and pocket even more of a profit for their own personal benefit.

But what would that do for their growing sport and its future ?

Part of the reason why boxing isn't really growing in the sense of gaining a lot of new fans is because the fighters and promoters are taking so much, there is hardly any money left over to invest back into the business. Promoters seem unwilling to sacrifice though.

If Dana White were promoting Mayweather, DLH, Pacquiao, etc. you wouldn't be seeing any great undercards. I'm not complaining if his talent is willing to work cheap, but the reality is that it wouldn't fly in professional boxing. Soon enough this gap will narrow and these great undercards will be just a fond memory.

Those are valid points, but the truth is that neither the boxing promoters or the fighters are willing to sacrifice even a little bit. There is built in distrust on both sides.

Dana has nothing to do with what's wrong with boxing right now. If anything, he's lit a fire under boxings ass, which will only cause our sport to improve.
          agree with you again.

If neither is willing to sacrifice, then i guess our sport will continue down the wrong path. Boxing is no longer a sport. Its a corporation made up of greedy business men.

                  Agreed.

But you know, boxing promoters are starting to at least see a need for improvement, so hopefully the rise of MMA will be the catalyst for them realizing that sacrifice will benefit everyone eventually.

Sad to say Dana steals more money from fighters than Arum.

when floyd spoke of HBO's offer as 'slave wages' someone shoulda shown him the payroll breakdown on UFC's roster....

for the revenue that those fighters bring in, their percentage is downright insulting
