call me insane/nuthugger/talking out of my ass but this is what i thought happened:
dlh was sure that he was gonna beat pac. so he kinda cheated the weight. make it appear that he has no weight advantage and so that no one will rip him on picking on a former flyweight. they even try to tune down the height advantage during the weigh in. pac was wearing shoes while dlh was on his socks. he was planning to fight hatton or rematch floyd after a sensational ko win.
why i think this may be possible is because during the build up, dlh was praising pac. increasing his stock, all the while making it appear that he may "already be too old" to fight "top competition". never seen a build up like that where the one guy was making an effort to make his opponent look good and make it appear the guy have an excellent chance to win.
during the fight, dlh looked like he weighed more than 147 pounds. i dont recall any other dlh fights where they released dlh's fighting weight. (though im not a dlh fan so i cannot say for sure) the purpose of this probably is to make idiot-fans think that "hey, there is not much size difference here. im sure as hell gonna give credit to dlh if he kod this pac guy. he's bigger than dlh!"
