    Taylor-Joppy; The Forgotton Battle...

In all the hoopla of the big heavyweight card next weekend and then Winky-Shane II. Followed by Vitali-vs- The Tyson Trouncer, a very important fight has been lost in the shuffle. Olympian Jermain Taylor, the heir apparent to Bernard Hopkins faces a severe test.

Taylor takes on former titleholder William Joppy. Outside of Hopkins and Felix Trinidad a good arguement came be made in Joppy's behalf that he has been the third best middleweight in the world over the last five or six years. A few years back Trinidad exposed Joppy's chin as Felix won in five rounds. [details]

if taylor had any balls he would have accepted the fight with eastman and not an extremely faded, shot joppy. so who cares!

Didn't Joppy say he was retiring after getting completely torn apart (beaten up, not stopped) by Hopkins? He's just a name for Taylor now. At least Taylor's getting a real Middleweight though.

B-Hop should fight Eastman first, then Taylor can take the next step up, which if he wins, would put him in excellent position to fight the winner of B-Hop/Tito. Joppy is an excellent test, and other than Morales/Barrera the most exciting fight coming up. Youngblood is what it's all about.
