There needs to be a ring welterweight champion. That needs to be settled next year. Only then can Floyd come back and fight the best welter out their, as currently there is'nt one defined.

Also this article seems very biased, the author should write articles with a more sophisticated judgement.

Floyd will come back to fight Pacquiao... mark my words. But only after a ring welterweight champion is defined can Floyd fight the best welter. Fact is, Williams may never fight at welter again. And theres so many welters out their still, its incredible.

They need this situation cleared by the end of 2009.

Mayweather ain't fighting the current Ring Magazine WW Champ, he's only returning to fight the smaller Pacquiao.

It's funny to me why after Manny destroys a dehydrated, washed up, shot and with no balls left ODLH everybody suddenly thinks he will do anything against Mayweather other then get a onesided beating, just like May's 39 other opponents recieved.. But then again.. That's just My opinion

If he faces legitimate threats, sure...if not, no...

I don't think it's gonna' happen, though. He's just tryin' to keep his name in the news and in circulation...

What's even funnier is that just last year you thought DLH was in his prime.

You act like the weight difference between Pac and Floyd is as big as the weight difference between Marg and Floyd . Pac fans can't be using the weight excuse when Floyd will be coming off a 2 year retirement. When they fight the best fighter will emerge the winner and i know who i'm putting money on.

He's gonna fight Pacquiao anyway. The first guy he'll fight when he comes back is Pacquiao... After Pacquiao, he'll fight the 'best' welterweight. It'll proberbly be Margarito. But Ring need to put a stamp on who the Ring welter is so it makes it easier to pick a welterweight for Floyd to fight after he beats Pacquiao.

Are you serious? Who can test him? gimme a break. DLH got a split decision.. Williams, Margarito and Cotto will not only test but likely beat Floyd. It is easy to look good against easy competition. You see Floyd shut up after calling out Winky Wright at 154. Why the silence after calling him out and Winky said, "lets do it." Cause Floyd knows his limitations... not cuz he cant be tested.

How would he deal with the constant pressure of such a big guy in Margrito? Floyds style might not be exciting, but the anticipation of these matchups is. With Floyd its a case of "Who can really test him?"

I don't know how Mayweather is going to to this against Pacquiao when he only throws punches 10% of the time, the rest of the time he spends running, clinching and elbowing his opponents. Mayweather is P4P the most boring P4P #1 EVER. But then again.. That's just My opinion
