I saw a replay of Naseem doc " little prince big fight" earlier on ESPN Classic. Ive seen it before, but i never realised Steward said he was the best of "FW ALL TIME" or will be

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing and i respect Steward as a trainer, but daamn!! that was one bold prediction, and possibly even ******.

        That's crazy IMO.
That doesn't surprise me, his camp was nothing but sycophants kept around for the sole purpose of boosting his ego and to be bossed around.

hamed never did anything to be an all time great, he beat no body, he never even tried to avenge his loss, he never fought a prime pound for pound fighter, and he lost when he stepped up the competition.........

he was a flash in the pan and nothing more. everyone says, he had power, he had guts, he had this, he had that, HE COULDN'T EVEN CONTINUE ON BOXING AFTER HIS LOSS, he seems more along the lines of a quitter than a champion, he was exposed, he knew it, and knew that he couldn't stay on top anymore, he knew he was a marked man and didn't want to get knocked off, so he got extremely fat for his size and faded away..............

hamed never was, and never will be an ALL TIME GREAT, he didnt' accomplish anything to warrant any kind of hall of fame status or all time great status....... plus it was a frank warren match making all the way too, hand picked fighters, he fought guys that either weren't ready yet or pass their prime, same as hatton and same as calzaghe under frank warren, and that is undeniable.

I think Steward was 100% correct, at the time he made those remarks almost 8 yrs ago.

Hamed could have proved Manny correct, if he'd got his **** togehter and avenged his embarassing loss to Barrera, but he didn't.

Hamed had all the skills to by the best Feather of all time, but chose not to even attempt it.

Instead, Hamed will be known as the greatest exposed fighter of all time.

Agreed HappyBoxingFan the guy above is clearly the former.

Hey deuce_drop, so Hamed got fat so he had an excuses to quit, because he knew his time at the top was over

Who did you want Hamed to fight? he fought the people who were available for him to fight at that time. Hamed only side stepped JMM, because Steward told him to. Im sure the ****y Hamed did not fear any FW out there at the time let alone any glass chinned JMM

Hamed did not retire, because he felt his time was over, why would he? Hamed had the kinda of power that could of taken Barrera out in a rematch. Lets not forget how tactical and safe Barrera fought that fight, it is easily conceivable that Hamed could of altered his game plan in a rematch and caught Barrera, who has been KTFO by Junior Jones a lesser puncher than Hamed with, less durability. Hamed could also of hurt the very easy to hit Eric Morales, and Hamed could of knocked JMM out imo.

American train of thought > Calzaghe struggles against 43 year old Hopkins that no one has looked good against >>prime Toney,Jones,Hopkins beat Calzaghe FACT !!!

              Barrera> Hamed = Morales,Pacquiao,JMM>Hamed

Max Kellerman also said Hamed would beat Salvador Sanchez.

George Foreman knows more about Boxing than Max Kellerman.

Manny also said that Andy Lee would be fighting for a world title by the end of 2008. Then along came the greatest boxer of all time, Brian Vera, and shattered the dreams of Steward and Lee, what a shame.
