Eye of the Tiger from Rocky IV

I've never liked Rocky until sitting through a marathon on Thanksgiving. I was like wow, they touched on little aspects of the sport that people often overlook. It was overdramatized often times but still, they bring out the spirit of boxing in those movies. Watching this gets me hyped like crazy!

Eye of the Tiger was for Rocky 3, but yeah a lot of boxing fans are too quick to dismiss the Rocky franchise. Each film is a new look at the sport, even Rocky 5, the weakest of the series, still covered Don King and his wicked ways

If only real prizefights were like Rocky fights, especially HW fights, damn, just damn.

I thought the one with Tarver was the weakest because it had no semblance of believability at all.

The fifth one was alright, the one with Mr. T was the best IMO.

Sly was a beast in his prime.

Yeah I can see why so many people don't like the Tarver one, but as a screenplay I was expecting a lot worse from Stallone at this stage, so I think that's why it didn't dissapoint me so much. But yeah - all believability out the window.

Lot of things annoy me about the fifth one...like how Rocky's son suddenly aged 5-6 years while Rocky spent a couple months in Russia.

I have a problem with Sly now after the way he acted at Hopkins Calzaghe...

Rocky Balboa actually had a lot of awesome boxing references. Of course the believeablity of the 58 year old ex champ coming out and lose a close 10 round fight (which wasn't that close btw. Dixon clearly won)

The boxing in rocky balboa, seemed realistic in the sense of it was like that over-dramatic like the third one was. They were actually hitting each other.

Though the references were awesome, especially when Dixon's camp yelled "WHAT TIME IS IT?! WHAT TIME IS IT?! DIXON TIME"

Rocky needs to come back and do what he did in the fifth one, only with a fighter that people actually like. I'd like to see them make one that is updated and modern, that fight fans of this generation can appreciate.

OK, I figured out what my biggest qualm with Rocky is. The utter lack of defense, who is going to stand there with their hands down and just let themselves be pummeled into oblivion with their hands down?

Nobody, it isn't realistic. There is no counter punching whatsoever, which I think is the most beautiful part of boxing.
