Lacy, Hopkins, RJJ. That's all she wrote.

Alls i'm sayin is that if he fought let's say 7 fights in the States or American fighters go to him, people would be singing a different tune.

I never really got a chance to analyze his style. What is his style considered?
How does he fight? I know he uses alot of duct tape.

Why did he need to fight in the States?

        Fame, Fortune and Glory....

America is the most superficial materialistic country in the world. We have the most organized professional sports, with respects to futbol of course.

Americans are sports fanatics. Bandwagon ones at that. So if Calzaghe established himself fighting more frequent in the states and retained the ranks of number one, then EVERYONE in America would love him. Based on the fact that he's a winner and number one.

          Dont think so tbh.

Calzaghe is a great fighter he doesnt need American "casuals" on his side.

He was a winner and No1 SMW for years, the fact he's Not American and as charismatic as a lump of clay means he was never going to break the States.

But the worst thing, OMG, the very worst thing is the showboating (im cringing just typing this). I hate watching him make a total WANKER out of him by taunting his opponents. I’ve nothing against showboating, but please, do it only if you can pull it off!! Calzaghe is a class boxer, his record speaks for itself, but the fact is, and i hate to say this about a fellow Brit, but.........

              He is a TITHEAD.

Im glad ive got that off my chest !
Lol....I was hoping he would do that against Hop so this could happen..and it will if he does what he did with roy against chad

                Er no it wont.

Calzaghe is real smart he done that on Roys chest so if Roy did land it would not be a hayemaker. I might add that Roy is a much bigger one punch fighter than Dawson.

I'm not knockin his skill, just his will. If boxing is so called "dying" and you're a prize fighter, isn't it your job to get asses in the seats?

His comments (which could well have been taken out of context) did nothing to improve his legacy. I don't think anyone has any qualms about him retiring.
Like i said, in 20 years a lot of people will probably forget the name Joe Calzaghe.

Is it plausible to believe that his 46 victories were hand picked and protected? I mean, it's evident that he really never fought in the states. I don't understand why? All of his state appearances were done in good fashion.

He sc****d Jeff Lacy; which Lacy could never recover from both mentally and physically. Calzaghe beat Hopkins legitimately in a classical boxing match. And he also embarassed RJJ and made him look soft.

Perhaps if he set up shop in the U.S., he would have done more for the sport of boxing.
if he doesn't fight dawson or hopkins he might as well retire.

So then what's the deal with Calzaghe? Why do people really not like this guy?
Is he just boring or something?

I dunno. I don't find him as interesting as Ricky Hatton. Now, he has personality.
