Well you just answered your question in your second post. You said Hatton and Hop would be top 2 and Pac woulda finished Marquez. Hop and Hatton both are top fighters and Pac beat Marquez even without those things. I think the top fighters would still be the top fighters. Mayweather might not be the best under those rules but he would be one of the best. I don't see it being that different.Comment

^Exactly.
And LOL @ some of you who have never even stepped in a boxing ring, let alone done any MMA training, speaking on which is technically more difficult.
Please, I have trained both, I'm not a pro by any means, but obviously MMA having much more elements and in effect ways to lose, is much more difficult in that respect.
Not saying that boxing isn't technical. But its one element.
All you have to worry about is hands.
^ I welcome any of you to try and dispute this fact.Comment

Actually, the point i was trying to make is that at 1 point in history boxing it pretty much was mma. And that was exactly the way i described my thread topic. And that the idiots that think it's an mma fan bashing boxing thread is not really a boxing fan at all because they do not know boxing's history.^Exactly.

Most MMA fighters have a strength. Some are wrestlers, some are Muay Thai fighters, some are Jiu Jitsu players.
Using your analogy, I would argue that most MMA fighters have one razor sharp pencil, along with other other semi-sharp pencils in different colors.
Of course, fighters have strengths and weaknesses. One fighter might be great on his feet, and not so good on the ground. That fighter would most likely opt to keep things standing.
Obviously.Comment

Well, boxing as a sport and MMA as a sport are different, you can't compare the amount of technical skill it needs, because both require different sets of skills. However, boxing is a much tougher sport in terms of competition, and making it big, there is MUCH more competition in boxing than there is in MMA, because there is much more boxers than UFC/Pride fighters.Comment
