WRONG.........Barrera WAS NOT hameds last fight..which is what i was trying to say. so if u STOPPED reading after that then also cool..

Hamed is guaranteed HOF. No doubt about it. Love him or hate him, he bought excitement to the game.

The only guys to make more money than Hamed outside the heavyweight scene was Oscar and Mayweather. Hamed is probs 3rd on the money made list after those two. Filty rich. I would say **** to boxing if I were him.

And no. 9/11 had nothing to do with it.

I dont think he would have come back even if 9-11 didnt happen, he just couldnt handle the loss and was too demoralised and disinterested to fight again.

^^^ Hamed isn't getting into **** unless it's the british HOF. How the **** would he get into the "real" boxing HOF based on what he did? Tom Johnson is the biggest name on his resume that I recall. maybe he's in the drunks boxing HOF with James L. Sullivan

There are lots of threads with interesting titles and long winded first posts that put people off replying.

I dont think 9-11 had much to do with him not fighting again. I think he was just as flashy as Floyd, and didnt exactly lead a strict ****** lifestyle. IMO he used his religion just to get in peoples faces. Many other boxers are religious but dont shout about it in the manner that Hamed did.

He fought once more after Barrera and his performance stank, he got booed. He quit because he didnt have the desire anymore, and knew his bragging about being a multi weight undefeated champion all fell to **** after Barrera. He was made to look foolish and his attitude made him unpopular in America.

I dont know what the criteria a boxer has to have before becoming a HOF.

But if its based on acheivements and impact id say Hamed belongs there. He may not have beaten any big stars, but he did beat several champions and was the best FW in the world for many years.
Also his entertainment value apparently drew alot of attention to the lower weights and made it possible for them to commaned much bigger purses.

He did alot of good for boxing.
