    Ike Bazooka Quartey

Im a big fan of Ike, he's had a good career with a few rough decisions against him. I just watched Vargas vs Quartey again and it got me thinking if Ike was in his Prime and back at 147 how would he do who would he beat?
Remember this is a guy who many feel beat a Prime Oscar De La Hoya, gave bigger men in Winky Wright and El Feroz real tough fights, and was robbed against Vernon the Viper Forrest.

I think after watching the Vargas fight that is exactly how Cotto would fight and handle him.

Margarito would really have his hands full with Ike, infact id make Bazooka slight favourite, he is like Clottey but IMO a lil better and Look at the trouble Clottey gave Tony. Ike was teak tough with a quality Winky wright gaurd (infact he claims Wink stole his style from back in the days when they used to be under the same promoters in France) and good power

    Cintron he breaks!

Mosley has problems with that jab busting him up but i think a prime Mosley would pull out the win

Williams im tempted to say would win well but the way Ike handled Forrests reach advantage has me unsure. Punisher probably outworks him.

    What Y'all think?

A prime Quartey would definitely be one of the best today and I'd give him a pretty good shot at beating all the top guys in the division.

Very good fighter one of the best 147lbs ever. I thought beat DLH personally. I think Quartey has a better jab than Clottey and more power and probably more speed so based on that id give him a great chance at beating Marg.

I agree, Mosley would not cope at all with the jab of a prime Quartey.

Quartey faded late in fights I think Williams using his reach would out point him.

If Quartey could establish his jab and control to the, similar to how he fought DLH, he could win, as already mentioned though, Quartey did have some stamina problems when he was throwing upwards of 80 punches a round so it would probably be a close fight.

Quartey was one of the most under-rated of fighters. If he was around today, he'd be up there challenging for the 147 p4p.

Had one of the best jabs i've seen. He scared the life out of Oscar, and the ONLY fight i can recall him 'actually' losing was to Winky. He was not given the best of deals by the judges in his career.

was a big fan Ike, almost hit the tv set when I heard Oscar's name get called as the winner in their fight... He deserved that win no doubt, I believe that victory would have change his career and they way we look at Ike.
