And I still want to know why the commentator was acting like Mir was a great boxer. Is that considered great boxing in MMA?
Proof boxers would dominate MMA

Didn't look remotely good at boxing compared to what ?I'm sorry, but I seriously doubt the gameplan was to box a guy that was better in every way on his feet. Mir didn't even look remotely good at boxing, yet he still annihilated the guy. If he was shot, then that's different, but the guy never even attempted to fight. Was he just looking for one last payday or something?
Why are you constantly trying to compare the way MMA fighters box, to a professional boxer in a boxing match ?
These guys aren't fighting in a boxing match. Its an MMA fight.Comment

One of the big appeals of Nog is that he's at his best in crisis situations. In boxing, if you get tagged good that you fall down, conscience or not, that's a knockdown. In MMA, you have to follow up to finish the job. Nog expects people to follow up and uses his very high level jiu-jitsu to either submit his opponent or at least neutralize him till it's stood up again.I'm sorry, but I seriously doubt the gameplan was to box a guy that was better in every way on his feet. Mir won on the basis that he wasn't going to play any part of Nog's game. The primary focus being not to get into a ground battle. So you had one and a half rounds of a sub par striker knocking down a Pan Am boxing gold medalist senseless because he relied too much on his JJ to bail him out and keeps forgetting that people can and will score on him pounding from the standing position.Comment
