I 100% honestly beleive that if Meldrick Taylor, Sweet Pea, Duran, Pryor,
Tszyu, JCC, etc... were in there prime right now that Floyd would fight them. I totally disagree with people saying that he wont fight the best. Why do you think he just said that he will beat Pac's ass?
I honestly beleive that he feels that no one in history can beat him from 130-140 pounds. Im not saying that its true that no one can beat him but I bet he beleives that and he's willing to back it up. I beleive he would fight all those legends I just named who are clearly 10x better then Margarito, Cotto, and Williams but he wont fight those big WW's simply because they are too big and he wont get extra credit for it. Again, I think he feels that if he loses to someone who's better then him then he can live with that but he cant live with it if he loses just because someone was flat out too big for him to handle. Thats what I think he meant when he said that he wont let boxing retire him like its done others. He's not going to fight until he loses or take dumb matchups for nothing. He'll take a fair fight any day and he'll take an unfair fight any day but he wont take a ****** fight for no reason and thats what people what him to do.
Its not about strength. A guy like Tsyzu is clearly bigger and stronger then Floyd but the weight isnt outlandish enough to where Floyd cant be himeslf. Thats what I dont get about people. Dont you want to see the 2 best guys fight at a 100%. Dont you want to see both guys be themselves and find out who wins? If Floyd fights those big WW's, he cant be himself. They will easily be there normal selves and probably even more bold while he will turn into this all defensive pot shot guy who everyone rips. He goes down to his normal weight of 135-140 and then he is way way way more offensive, while throwing combos and he can walk guys down. I beleive that he would even fight Cotto at 140 if he would have stayed there but at WW its different. He was aleady 7 pounds bigger then Floyd at 140 and way more then that naturally but at WW he's 14 pounds bigger then Floyd and you have Margarito who made Cotto look like a boy so what does that say?
Pac is clearly the best guy out there but look at how Floyd has jumped up to fight them. It would be the exact same with those huge fights I named above. 130-140 he would fight anybody but when you go above that then it changes because he really doesnt gain any weight. Even 140 isnt his best but he can handle it. That is the cut off point though. Again, I think he's natually a 137.5 pound fighter right now. He's between a LW and a Jr. WW but he can make LW without a problem. I just rewatched Floyd vs Baldy & Zab and Floyd looks so flat and thin. Then I watched Paulie vs N'Godgu and both those guys looked easily bigger then Floyd and they were at 140. I could honestly see him fighting Pac next and then moving down even more to fight JMM after that and I bet he beats both of them. I still beleive that he may even would fight the big WW's if he got extra credit for it but the media and fans wont look at it like that. They look at it like he should have to fight them and if he wins then he's supposed to so its no big deal and its just not worth it to him. Recognize his real size and the greatness of those wins and you could get those big fights at WW.
To me its like Floyd vs Karmazin. Floyd fought at 154 and I think he could beat Karmazin there but I wouldnt be shocked if Floyd lost that fight. I dont think anyone would be really shocked if he lost that fight but yet they call him a punk if he doesnt fight Margarito even though Floyd would be about the same size and Margarito would probably be the same or even bigger then Karmazin and he's way better? It doesnt make sense to me
