Jimmy Slattery was probably the most talented man to lace on a pair of gloves. Gene Tunney once said that Slattery, twice light-heavyweight champion, would easily win the heavyweight title if only he trained for three months. Slattery didn't even train for three days! He was too busy drinking and screwing to waste time on training. A bit of film footage still exists of Slattery, it shows his tremendous natural ability. It is too bad he never took his career seriously.
