How can you have Hopkins above Gatti?

Gatti chin was rocked a lot of times. He's been on the canvas way more then Hopkins.

Gatti has more heart then chin. His heart is a 10 to me

            i like these chin threads

hopkins: ill give b-hop a 10, been down twice but that was caused by altitude

RJJ: 6, has been stopped, but that was caused not only by the power shots themselves but also by moving up and down in weight so fast, which messed up his punch resistance and legs......however his chin still isnt the firmest

david haye: hmm seems to have explanations for his knockdowns and stoppage loss (weight drain, stamina issues..) but even if thats true its obvious his chin isnt great so a 5.5

de la hoya: excellent chin, stopped twice but that was caused by a bodyshot vs b-hop (therefore not a chin issue) and accumulation vs pacquiao (where his legs seemed gone and where he didnt go down, retired) and i cant really recall him going down any other time, and he has faced some formidable punchers
            oscar gets an 8.5

gatti: from all the talk in my other thread, gatti had a good chin but not a great one, he was hurt many times, but was certainly not a glass jawed push over- and when he got stopped it usually took a lot of heavy shots to get him out of there so he gets a 7

              Hopkins - 8
              Roy Jones Jr. - 6.5

              De La Hoya - 8
              Gatti - 9

Gatti may have been down more times then them, but he's also probably been hit maybe 4 times in the head then them because of his style.

i agree with you, i rated hops chin above gatti too, but you have to take into account gatti had no defence while hops had good D

nonetheless, b-hops chin is still better

So Gatti has a better chin because he was knocked down by combinations of harder punches because of his style?
